Full Testimony of Mary Helen's Lung
Her name is Mary Helen, a Southern California woman in her 70's. She said 18 years ago she contracted a fungal infection in her lung and became very ill; ultimately requiring doctors to remove her whole right lung. Then five years ago she developed breast cancer that was treated with both chemo and radiation.
Three months ago, Mary Helen began to feel pain in her chest area so she calls and asks for prayer from her young cousins Kim and Gina who live in Fresno and attend The River Church. They come into agreement and pray health and healing over her and call in a new lung from heaven for her and said "Lord, why not? What do we have to lose? We call forth a new lung! in Jesus Name!" They both believe life and healing is in the spoken word along with declarations keep illness from coming on their family.
Mary Helen had begun to feel something unusual happening in her remaining lung, which scared her a great deal. She went to visit her doctor, again, and he began to run tests on her, searching for signs of the virus that had attacked her before, or perhaps Valley Fever, or even worse - cancer.
A short time after that prayer, Mary Helen endured a painful scope, at Loma Linda Hospital, scanning her body for signs of the illness that was bothering her. It seemed that the doctors were acting somewhat unusual as she awaited the diagnosis and it made Mary Helen and her daughters very worried to hear the final results. When the doctor finally came to discuss the situation he told her "I have good news and bad news for you." The doctor started with the good news and it was VERY good news. "You don't have a virus, you don't have Valley Fever and you don't have cancer. But what you do have, is a new lung!"
The doctor explained that their scan had not found any disease but had, in fact, ascertained that Mary Helen not only had one healthy lung, but that the lung which had been removed had now been replaced by another, healthy, fully functioning lung! Not only was the lung renewed but it was perfectly connected into her respiratory system. God had indeed answered Kim's request to "just give her a new lung."
The bad news? The doctor said the bad news is that he and his colleagues have no idea how she got this new lung. He even asked her to open her hospital gown so he could see that she still had the long scar from the time he opened her up to remove the now-replaced lung. Her health is completely restored and the only issues she is battling is from the scraping done by the camera that was inserted into her system.
Mary Helen said she has not been close to God for many years but through this incident she knows God loves her. And that is the good news, isn't it - to restore physiology miraculously so people can know that God is a God of love and Sozo power. He even has new lungs for when they are needed!
Our church community has been rocked by this amazing miracle and we are crying out, with one voice, a powerful prayer - "More, Lord!"
