In Light of the Tragic Shootings and Bombing!
I think today, in light of the tragic shootings and bombing, a note of thanksgiving may be in order.
So, I am going to actively give God praise in the midst of this hard place, and I am going to choose to have the joy of the Lord.
Lord, I thank you that when I am weak or frightened, I choose to delight in you! Psalm 37:23-24 "The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; 24 though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand."
I give you praise for keeping me in safety throughout this week. 2 Samuel 22:3 “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; 3 my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—from violent people you save me."
Even though my mind is concerned, my heart is fixed on the promises of Your Word. John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
Though Many feel isolated and alone today, we are never without Him! Hebrews 13:5 “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Despite those things that have taken place, my life overflows with your blessings. Philippians 4:11b "I have no reason to complain. I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, to be content.
Even though it seems like I will be overwhelmed, You will never allow me to crumble beneath the weight of it all. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."
Thank You so much for helping me to notice that You are active and in control no matter the storm clouds. Psalm 138:7 "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life. You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes; with your right hand you save me."
I give you praise for Your ever-renewing mercies and grace. Hebrews 4:16 "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."
Whew! I feel better already. How about you? In spite of it all, we always have a reason to give God thanks!
Lindy and I love and believe in you! Have a great week.
